Alistair Walton

 I am an Edinburgh based figurative artist. Although with no formal training, I was extremely fortunate to receive individual tuition from an exceptionally talented figurative artist where the emphasis was on representational accuracy, technique and the development of interesting imagery.

From the beginning, I was drawn to paint the human figure. Generally, the paintings are of a single figure in space with simple, uncluttered backgrounds allowing the focus to fall on the figure with the interplay of light and shade often an important element.

I have also been painting land and seascapes mainly due to a number of enquiries for these subjects.

Previously, my career was in senior financial management with a global financial services company.
